- Fantastic Bracket Review by GBP

I think I have used nearly every flash bracket on Earth at one time or another, but the Pro-M blows them all out of the water. Amazingly simple, quick, and accurate allowing for rapid shots in either landscape or portrait mode. It is very comfortable in my hands, although a tad heavy for those not used to using a good bracket. My only criticism would be cost. It is pricey, but I am willing to overlook that in light of it's fabulous ability! (Posted on 9/26/11)Quality - AWESOME! But... Review by vince

I have the Digital Pro-M with FCN and QRM-C kit for my Canon 5D mkIIQuality
The bracket is really awesome. It is made of solid, durable, quality materials, etc. I really can't praise it enough so far, so this is not meant to be a negative review. However I do have a few gripes so far:
1) It is expensive - even with the good quality and great product, it is still a bit overpriced in my opinion; at least you get a solid product for the price though. I could see it being, say, $75 or $100 less, but I am not depressed over it since the quality is top notch.
2) The arced bar that enables the swivel gets in the way of the zoom ring on my Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 lens when I have it attached. As such it is difficult to handle/maneuver when trying to zoom in and out. Makes me wish I had a third hand, but I suppose I can manage without.
3) The little kickstand bars could be shorter, or perhaps retractable, so they fold and tuck away without getting in the way of the tripod quick release - not a big deal at all though. it kind-of stands nicely even without he kickstand bars as well, which is reassuring.
4) the back of the quick release mount, where the camera actually fits into the apparatus, has a screw that digs into my chest a little when I have everything dangling around my chest on the camera strap (which at this point I still want to keep attached to the camera in case I slip or lose a handle on the bracket). Maybe a little cushion could go over it, or a different quick release mechanism would be better to avoid that, but the apparatus is well balanced and doesn't feel awkward or off kilter.
Otherwise it is top quality, very sturdy and really awesome: 4 stars out of 5. I took a few vertical test shots with the flash and NO SIDE SHADOWS! That was the primary reason I purchased the item. And the bracket gives a much nicer lighting effect in general -- really awesome. I am very happy with the purchase. (Posted on 6/28/11) - Pro-m Kit w/quick release Review by James

"I have to admit this is the first bracket I've purchased, however not the first one used. Simply put, LOVE IT. Used with a Canon 1DsMIII and a Q-flash. Cord management is unique and fixed w/velcro ties for appearance, heavy is putting it mildly with this set up, but sturdy it defenitly is. Recommend the camera mounting plate quick release A+++. Changed the 'philips screw' on the camera mount plate to a knurrled knob for use with more than one camera to adjust for body width easier. The ease of piviting the camera without changing the flash angle is what makes this bracket the best IMO. Are replacement foams available for the handle. I see sweat over time eating up the foam.Quality

"This is the best bracket I've ever used.Quality
I used it with a Nikon D3 for seven weddings and couldn't be happier. I attached a QR plate for use on a Monfrotto tripod."

"Hi. Love the product. Has made me so much more productive. Only problem is that in driving, the srew that aligns the screw that goes into the camera moves slightly and unless you have a screw driver (tiny) you can't move it. It should be a know / twst device.Quality
Other than that the build construction is first rate and ergonomics are great. I could use a hand strap and the flash extension needs about 1/4' more for a canon with a Quantum Q-flash DW series shoe-mounted sensor (sometimes the cables get crimped and you can't flip the camera."

"The Pro-M is simply the best bracket I've ever used. Built quality is top notch. The aluminum makes it very light weight to carry around. The Pro-M rotates the camera when switching from landscape to portrait orientation, which is much better than those flash flipping brackets. I also recommend the camera quick release, which comes in very handy.Quality
The kit is not cheap, but it's worth every penny. If you shoot wedding for a living, this is the bracket to have.

All I can say is wow! Had no idea what a difference a flash bracket makes... And this one is much easier to config and more compact than the Strobo.. Great build quality as well.. Did not let me down... Worth every $$$Quality

We have used our bracket for shooting about six weddings now and it has been a great help. Used with a 5d, speedlight and battery pack. You may want to take care when attaching the frame to a tripod as the added weight can cause some wiggle. We got around this by using a hanging weight at the bottom of the tripod. A more substantial tripod would also help. All in all a great product, being able to go from shooting horizontal to vertical while keeping the flash in the same place is the greatest advantage for me.Quality

"I received my Pro-M here in Japan a few weeks ago after ordering from B&H Photo in NY...Quality
My initial feelings were that - although stronger than my Stroboframe Pro-T - it still seemed a little 'flexy' but then this was with a D-200 with grip & two flashes attached..
After using the bracket twice now for different events I am happy top say that any initial fears were put to rest when I used it the first time...
No more flashes flopping around for me... Thanks for producing such a great product...
PS.. Nice to be able to put my bracket inside my shoulder bag now for a change..."

I have had the Digital Pro-M for about 2 months. It is fabulous! I use it with a Nikon D200, SC17 and SB800 flash units. I have it set up to work with my Acratech Ball Heads using the Arca Swiss converter plate. Keep up the great work.Quality
